Etymology: L ASTER n. any composite plant of the genus Aster, with bright daisy-like flowers, e.g. the Michaelmas daisy. Phrases and idioms China aster a related plant, Callistephus chinensis, cultivated for its bright and showy flowers. Etymology: L f. Gk aster star
